Phil Bauhaus vom Team Bahrain Victorious ist ein guter Sprinter. Trotzdem fallen die absoluten Erfolgserlebnisse doch eher spärlich aus. Um so erfreulicher ist sein gestriger Sieg beim einem großen World Tour Rennen. Bauhaus gewann die letzte Etappe von Tirreno Adriatico in San Benedetto del Tronto im Massesprint. Er schlug dabei die großen Nummern wie Nizzolo, Demare und Kristoff. Das zeigt den hohen Stellenwert dieser Aktion.
Die 7. Etappe führte von Benedetto del Tronto wieder dahin zurück. Sie hatte eine Länge von 159 Kilometern und war nach einigen Hügeln in der ersten Hälfte komplett flach. Etwas für die Sprinterteams also.
Da freut es einen natürlich schon, wenn sich ein deutscher Sprinter dann am Ende durchsetzen kann.
