Giro d'Italia

Nächste Woche ist es soweit. Die erste Grand Tour des Jahres startet in Bologna. Nach der 1. Etappe am Samstag über 8,8 km im Zeitfahren geht es am Sonntag so richtig los. Man fährt über die kleinen Pässe des Appenin  und 200 km nach Fucecchio. Der Tag dürfte wie die folgenden etwas für die Sprinter sein. Am Montag geht es weiter an das Thyrrenische Meer nach  Orbetello.

Da sind wir schon bald in der Gegend von Rom.  Im Nachbarort hatte wir unser kleines Segelboot früher im Winter installiert. Da könnte ich mal wieder bei Silvio vorbeischauen.

Dienstagabend sind wir schon in Frascati. Ich freu mich schon auf den Wein. Die verkehrsreichen Gebiete um Rom werden weit im Landesinnern umgangen. Der Tag ist deshalb 228 km lang. Die nächste Etappe von Frascati nach Terracina hat nur 140 km. Wir waren da auch schon. Westlich vom Ort steht ein Felsen vom Kaliber Gibraltar.

Der Startort des nächsten Tages ist Cassino. Den Monte kennt man. Von hier geht es über 233 nach San Giovanni Rotondo. Das liegt schon an der Adria. Wir fahren also quer durch den Stiefel. Von nun an geht es nach Norden.

Der Freitag führt von Vasto an der Adria ins Landesinnere nach Aquila. 180 km sind es bis dorthin. Da Tag könnte für einen Puncheur gut enden. Wenn einer sich das Herz nimmt.

Der Samstag führt die Jungs strikt an der Adria lang nach Norden. Bis Pescara wir der Teutonen Grill dann abgegrast. Um diese Jahreszeit stehen aber wohl eher die Einheimischen am Straßenrand. 235 km dauert dieses flache Vergnügen, welches sicher mit einem Massensprint enden wird.

Sonntag gibt es ein Zeitfahren nach San Marino. Das is 34 km lang und es in sich. Der Start ist nämlich am Meer in Riccione. Die letzten 12 km geht es ordentlich hoch.

Dann ist die erste Woche rum. Montags haben wir schon den ersten Ruhetag.

Dienstag geht es weiter von Ravenna. Man fährt die nächsten zwei Tage die Poebene hoch. Dann kommen die Westalpen. Ein leichtes Vorgeschmäckle für die letzte Woche in den Ostalpen.

Zwischendurch fährt man wieder ein wenig flacher. Die Etappe am Sonntag von Ivrea nach Como beginnt in der Ebene, allerdings kommen bei Como doch einige Klimmzüge dazu. Hier könnte sich ein Puncheur, wenn er noch die Kräfte hat, wieder mal durchsetzen.

 

Die letzte Woche des Giro steht traditionell für Etappen in den Hochalpen. Jetzt wird das Endklassement in die Form gegossen. Wer am nächsten Sonntag das Zeitfahren über 15 km in Verona beginnt, sollte das Rennen schon im Köcher haben. Falls er die Rundfahrt gewinnen will.
